86 Day Recap: Fujiwara Tofu Cafe’s Celebration of AE86 Legacy with Special Appearance by Sung Kang
Illest & AE86 Ratchet Club joined forces with Fujiwara Tofu Cafe in El Monte, California, to celebrate another epic 86 Day, honoring the legendary AE86. The event was a huge success, drawing a passionate community of car enthusiasts who came together to appreciate the iconic Toyota model. This year, we brought something special to the table with exclusive event merch in collaboration with Fujiwara Tofu Cafe and AE86 Ratchet Club.
The parking lot became a vibrant display of AE86s, FRSs, BRZs, GR86s, and GT86s, all shining under the Southern California sun. The energy was electric, especially when Sung Kang, known as "Han Lue" from the “Fast and Furious” franchise, made a surprise appearance in his own Toyota Corolla GT-S. His arrival added an extra layer of excitement and nostalgia, perfectly aligning with the spirit of 86 Day.
Throughout the event, attendees sipped on the special “Hachiroku” drink from Fujiwara Tofu Cafe, mingled with fellow car lovers, and admired the incredible lineup of vehicles. Our friends and vendors— 5586_designworks, Cooled Collective, Hwracetrack, Diecast Support Group, Arman—kept the vibes strong with entertainment and support.
As the night wrapped up, the buzz about next year’s 86 Day was already building. The event showcased how the AE86’s legacy continues to thrive, blending performance, style, and culture—a legacy that Illest is proud to be part of.
